In the International Junior Science Olympiad, Mammad Aliyev, Grade 10 student and the member of Azerbaijani team won a bronze medal
In 11th edition of the International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO-2014) held in Mendoza, Argentina, Azerbaijan was represented by the students of "Istek" lyceum. More than 200 participants from more than 40 countries tested their knowledge in the fight for first place in Olympiad.
10-day Olympiad was held in 3 stages. The first stage consists of 30 questions with 10 questions from each subject, i.e. physics, chemistry and biology. The second stage is called "theoretical tour" and includes open questions from physics, chemistry and biology. The third stage is "experimental tour". In this stage, the laboratory studies of physics, chemistry and biology are conducted by the team.
Note that, the International Junior Science Olympiad held since 2014. 6th edition of the International Junior Science Olympiad held in Baku attended by 50 countries. This figure is considered to be the greatest in the history of the International Science Olympiad.
