The 32nd Balkan Mathematical Olympiad (BMO 2015) was held in Athens, Greece, from 3rd of May to 8th of May 2015.
Azerbaijani schoolchildren participated at the Olympiad, attended by 130 pupils from 21 different countries, including England, Italy, Iran, Turkey, Romania, Serbia, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia and others.
3 pupils among Azerbaijani schoolchildren won a bronze medal and one of them took the stimulating place in mathematics at the Olympiad. Thus, Mohammad Shirinov, 10th grade student from Baku, Ismat Agayev, 11th grade student from Guba, and Tahir Nadirov, 10th grade student from Guba, were awarded the bronze medal, Mirali Ahmadli, 9th grade student from Ganja, was awarded the incentive certificate at the Olympiad.
According to information provided by the team leader Fuad Garayev, the Organizing Committee of the Olympiad praised the performance of our students and expressed congratulations and kind words, addressed to the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
It should be noted that students-candidates, who will participate in the 56th International Mathematical Olympiad in the second half of May, will be selected among the distinguished students in the final stage of the Republican subject Olympiads and training camp began with candidate team in May and June.
