On April 15, the awarding ceremony of winners of the Fourth International Festival-Competition of young performers (under 20) of classical music among the countries of the Islamic World was held at the National Art Museum of Azerbaijan.
The festival, which is considered the project of “Kainat” Youth Center, is organized with the support of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan, with participation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and by Baku Music Academy. This year's competition was organized within the framework of the 130th anniversary of outstanding Azerbaijani composer Uzeyir Hajibayli. The competition was attended by 52 young performers from Azerbaijan, Turkey, Egypt, the Russian Federation (Bashkortostan), Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Iran and Indonesia.
In his speech, Deputy Youth and Sports Minister of Azerbaijan Intiqam Babayev spoke about the government support for the comprehensive development of the young generation in our country and the significance of the traditional festival-competition: "In recent years, thanks to the great support of the country's leadership, Azerbaijan hosts the international festivals, competitions and forums. The international festival of young performers of classical music among the countries of the Islamic World serves to strengthen cultural relations between Muslim countries ".
Rahib Rasulzadeh, Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Director of "Kainat" Youth Center, noted that the scope of the project is expanding from year to year. It was noted that international competition is held in two age groups (under the age of 15 and between the ages of 15-20). One of the conditions for participants is to perform works by Azerbaijani composers.
Then the winners were determined by the jury, represented by one person from each participating country.
The 1st place was awarded to Natalia Lem (Uzbekistan), the 2nd place was awarded to Fidan Tagiyeva (Azerbaijan) and the 3rd place was awarded to Timur Mirahmedov (Uzbekistan) in the piano performance category in group under 15. Amonbek Rixsinboyev (Uzbekistan), Shamil Salimov (Azerbaijan) and Asadbek Xalimcanov (Uzbekistan), won 1-3 places respectively in the orchestral performance category.
Gunel Rizvanova, Javid Azizov and Arzu Asgarli (all of them are from Azerbaijan) were awarded the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places respectively in the piano performance category in older age groups. Suleyman Eyyubov (Azerbaijan), Samat Meditov (Bashkortostan) and Alpamis Bissenqaliyev (Kazakhstan) took the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places respectively in the orchestral performance category. For his virtuoso performance, Mehman Salimov (Azerbaijan) was awarded the special diploma and gifts, established by Baku Music Academy.
In accordance with the rules of the festival, the diplomas and prizes were presented to Mahigul Nizomova (10 years old) from Uzbekistan on the nomination "The youngest performer". The main prize of the festival (Grand Prix) was presented to Melissa Buyukoru, the student of Ankara State Conservatory (Turkey).
As well as, the participants of the competition were awarded prizes of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
The event ended with a concert program of winners of the Fourth International Festival-Competition.
