The excursion was organized to “Gala” State Historical and Ethnographic Reserve for 7th, 8th & 9th grade students of the Physics, mathematics and information science lyceum and the Chemistry-biological lyceum on April 9-14, 2015.
The excursion, aimed at increasing the positive impact of social projects on the students' intellectual development, the expansion of the students' world outlook and the formation of the students as active citizens, has been realized with joint support of the Ministry of Education and the "Old City" State Historical-Architectural Reserve Department under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
In this complex, students got acquainted with rock paintings, Gaval dash (musical stone), weapons, ceramics, jewelry and household items, coins, the preserved ruins of the ancient residential complex and other historical and ethnographic examples, found on Absheron Peninsula and covered the period from the III-II millennium BC to the middle ages.
The habitats over and under the rocks, the rock carvings, the ancient foundations, the primitive wall remnants of the Bronze Age, two underpasses towards the Caspian Sea and Baku city of X-XIV and X-XV centuries caused a great interest of children. In addition, the master classes were organized in the pottery, weaving and blacksmith shops for schoolchildren and students participated in the preparation of the relevant products.
