The historical achievement of Azerbaijani schoolchildren

Azerbaijani schoolchildren achieved the greatest success at the international Olympiads in the last eleven years. So, Azerbaijani schoolchildren won 2 silver and 3 bronze medals at the 12th International Junior Science Olympiad (İJSO) held in Daegu, South Korea, on December 2-10, 2015. At this Olympiad, held with the participation of 43 countries, our country was among those countries that achieved successful results.

Huseyn Babayev, 10th grade student of natural science-oriented and humanities-oriented school-lyceum No.18 in Shirvan city, and Jafar Isbarov, 10th grade student of humanities-oriented school-lyceum No.4 in Lankaran city, won a silver medal, Turan Badalli and Emin Gayibov, 10th grade students of experimental pilot classes of lyceum named after academician Zarifa Aliyeva in Baku, and Turan Mammadli, 10th grade student of humanities-oriented school-lyceum No.4 in Lankaran city, won a bronze medal.

Pupils demonstrated their theoretical and practical knowledge at the 12th International Science Olympiad in physics, chemistry and biology.

The schoolchildren, representing our country at this Olympiad, won 1 bronze medal in 2004, 2 bronze medals in 2005, 3 bronze medals in 2007, 3 bronze medals in 2008, 1 silver medal and 2 bronze medals in 2009, 2 bronze medals in 2010, 1 silver medal and 2 bronze medals in 2011, 4 bronze medals in 2012, 1 bronze medal in 2013, 1 bronze medal in 2014.

It should be noted that this year, according to the results of the International Mathematical Olympiad, Azerbaijan was among the top 50 countries. The bronze medals, won after many years at the International Biology Olympiad and the Asian Physics Olympiad, show that all work has been carried out correctly in this direction. Azerbaijani pupils won 2 bronze medals at the International Chemistry Olympiad held in Baku.
